With all the talk of TNA closing up shop in
the recent months, I’m willing to bet WWE
have been doing their homework on some of
their competitor’s talent.
As of right now it seems that TNA won’t
survive much longer, and that could mean a
lot of talented superstars moving over to
other promotions, including WWE.
This video will cover 8 wrestlers WWE should
sign if TNA goes under.
I’m cheating a little bit with this one,
as The Wolves are a tag team consisting of
Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards, two extremely
talented wrestlers who you may know from my
Wrestling Origins series, have been inseparable
since forming a team back in 2008.
Previously called The American Wolves, the
two have been tearing it up in TNA both as
a tag team and singles competitors, and would
fit in great in WWE.
They could really help flesh out the Tag Team
division over on SmackDown for instance.
With a recent focus on women’s wrestling,
a great addition to WWE’s aforementioned
division would be ring veteran Gail Kim.
You may remember Kim from her days in WWE,
but her career really took off in TNA where
she is a six-time TNA Knockouts Champion.
Having somebody as experienced as her in the
ring with this crop of newer talent would
be greatly beneficial for WWE, and although
she is getting a bit older, WWE has shown
they don’t necessarily have an issue with
that with their recent signing and push of
Another former WWE talent, Drew Galloway,
formerly known as Drew McIntyre, is a wrestler
whose career also took off after leaving the
From being featured in 3MB to being a top
talent wrestling against the likes of Kurt
Angle, Jeff Hardy, and Bobby Lashley, Galloway
has had a relatively successful run in TNA.
He’s even been the TNA World Heavyweight
Though WWE had their issues with Drew, hopefully
they see how valuable he is and use him to
his full potential for another run.
Speaking of Bobby Lashley, the former US Army
Sergeant and current MMA fighter is still
wrestling in TNA, and has had major success
in WWE’s rival promotion.
Lashley originally left WWE after a writer
allegedly made some racist comments, though
the company maintained the split was mutual
Regardless, Lashley has become a dominant
force in TNA and has won multiple championships
in the promotion.
He is getting older, but I think he has more
than a few good years in him if he chooses
Another former WWE talent, though one that
was never as prominent as the others on this
list, is Ethan Carter III.
Known as the All-American Derrick Bateman
back in WWE, EC3 was reinvented in TNA.
He’s an entertaining, charismatic superstar
who can easily play both a heel and a face.
He has really developed into a great wrestler,
and like I said, his character work is excellent.
As one of TNA’s top stars, it would be a
no-brainer for WWE to sign him if the company
folds, but that would also mean admitting
they fumbled his character when they originally
Jeff Hardy is awesome.
There are so many fans that have wanted Jeff
to come back to WWE for years, but to be fair
he has been killing it over in TNA.
Brother Nero is one of the most exciting superstars
to grace a TNA ring, and since moving away
from WWE he has really shown off what he’s
Now, WWE and Hardy aren’t on the best of
terms, as Jeff previously struggled with drug
abuse and legal troubles, but they may be
willing to overlook that as Hardy has been
clean for years.
You didn’t think I’d have Brother Nero
on here without Broken Matt Hardy did you?
Broken Matt has proved himself to be one of
the best things in wrestling today, and is
arguably the reason TNA gained a ton of viewers
these past 6 months.
The Final Deletion, which featured Matt facing
off against his brother, was absolutely awesome,
and the new persona in general has revitalized
I’m sure WWE would love to bring Broken
Matt Hardy into the mix, but the question
is, will Hardy want to return?
WWE will almost certainly want to tamper with
the character, and both Hardy Boyz dislike
the grueling WWE schedule.
And those are 8 wrestlers WWE should sign
if TNA goes under.
